In this direct-to-video remake, when an accident leaves a group of researchers trapped beneath the earth's crust, it's up to a drill team, led by Joseph Harnet (Greg Evigan), to rescue them. But once underground, the team discovers a mysterious -- and horrifying -- subterranean universe. Giant spiders and treacherous dinosaurs abound in this pulse-pounding update of Jules Verne's classic sci-fi adventure, which also stars Dedee Pfeiffer.

Fewer and fewer movies are being shot on genuine film, because fewer and fewer movies building have film projectors. Unless there is an art house theatre nearby, any watching of older, or less renowned, films, on actual film, is pretty much impossible. When is the last time that an more mature or obscure film was available at the local multi-theater megaplex? If whoever has a film copy of that older, unknown film, does not think it is lucrative enough to put it about DVD, there is little that can be done about it. Soon, the only way to observe films of any kind, will probably be through on-line streaming. Based on your point of view, this is possibly that natural progression of technology, or it's the end of the world.
